In a bit of a surprise move, Rex Grossman inked a new deal with his existing team , the Chicago Bears. Grossman has struggled the last couple of years as the Bears number 1 QB, plagued by inconsistent play, The new deal is one year in length and guarantees Grossman $1.5 million . The signing comes as a bit of a surprise as it was widely speculated the QB would end up as a backup with another team during free agency. Grossman will be competing for the starters job with Kyle Orton. Brian Griese is expected to be released in early March before he is due a $300,000 roster bonus.
